Spring is Indeed Upon Us

Hello All!

Boy, we have had some beautiful weather in the past two weeks. Most days we have been going for walks in the afternoon, sometimes twice a day. It's so nice to be able to get out and about, instead of staying inside all the time. I love to sit outside and read, and I've been doing a lot of that lately, as well. I finally finished Book 3 in the Rose trilogy by Beverly Lewis, and although I'm glad to finish the series, I was a little sad to say good-bye to the sweet main character whom the trilogy is named after. I've also recently read Ella Enchanted, The Giver (this was a school assignment, but I really enjoyed it and am going to get the second book from the library) and a couple of other titles.

Well, this post isn't just about my literary life. ;) We've been seeing several butterflies lately, because apparently this is when they start to come out. On one of our walks, one was fluttering very close to the sprinklers that were going off in one of the front lawns. The butterfly seemed to like it at first, but after a while I could see that it wasn't doing so well. So, pushing my mom's camera aside so that it wouldn't get wet, I let the butterfly crawl onto my hand and pulled her (or him) out of the raging rapids. ;) And I also managed to get a couple of pictures , but between having to hold the camera in one left hand and my hat, it was slightly difficult.

(this one is a butterfly I saw on another outing, resting on my neighbor's flowers)
Butterfly, be grateful, I probably saved your life! ;)

This is when I put it back down on the pavement for the wings to dry out.
I also took the best photo and cropped out most of my fingers (impossible to get it all out without cutting off too much of the butterfly) and added some text--Butterfly in three languages. :D
(Plus a random bee...there have been quite a few of those out, as well, and I love taking pictures of them! So far I haven't gotten stung, but I'd better not say that lest I jinx myself. :P)

Also, this is rather off-topic, but we made a trip to Target and I had a giftcard...so I came out with this:

Taylor is now proudly residing with The Band Perry on my dresser.

I hope everyone has a lovely week!

P.S. Can I just take a moment to tell you how much I ADORE the new Blogger photo-uploading mechanism? It was torture to upload photos before, now it's so easy. Thank you, Blogger. Thank you very much.

I LOVE Beverly Lewis! And The Giver is one of my all time favorite books, though the second one is not nearly as good (it doesn't even talk about the same people - it's in a totally different time period!)
Hugs,
Kellee

Love the butterfly pictures!
(I would LOVE to get that Taylor Swift cd. I'll have to keep my eye out for one now.)
